This series of self-portraits, portraits and landscape drawings offers an exploration of human perception, unmediated by mechanisation, playing formality against immediacy.

They embrace the intimate space rather than the social or public, and are most closely connected with post-impressionism or early expressionism. Although the drawing mediums used are traditional, the aesthetic is mobile, reflecting the complex relationship between time, memory, and mood in the perceptive process. Each image is a conglomeration of independent moments in which subject and object collide in the mark, each moment being coded and recoded until their sum is a new unit.
