Rewrites

11 October – 3 November

The relationship between memory and physical past is abstract and fluid.

With each revisit over time we rewrite our own past into layered memory that is individualised and uniquely false or exaggerated. I’m interested in representing this abstract happening by creating an object and then transforming it through painted representation. The paintings can then take on their own identity as objects. These works are fleshy and dream-like results of a still life study and working memory.
